What Is a Cream Separator And How Does It Work?

A cream separator is a machine that separates the cream from milk. It works by using centrifugal force to separate the milk into cream and skim milk.

The machine consists of a large drum with a small motor that rotates it at a high speed. Milk is poured into the top of the drum and as it spins, the milk is forced outwards towards the edges of the drum. Because cream is lighter than milk, it moves to the top of the drum and collects in a separate container, while the skim milk is left at the bottom and can be collected separately.

Some cream separators use a manual crank to rotate the drum, while others use an electric motor. The speed at which the drum rotates can be adjusted to allow for different levels of separation, depending on how much cream is desired.

Cream separators are commonly used in dairy farms and creameries to separate milk and cream for further processing or sale. They are also used by home dairy enthusiasts to make their own butter, cream, and other dairy products. Read More!!
